Week 10 - Starting Off Project: Week 10: Make up tools
Hi everyone!
Hope everyone has had an awesome week!
It is the FINAL week of The SO Project (#theSOproject)...
where has the past 10 weeks gone?! Really sad to see the project end!
The
category this week is Make Up Tools.
Lets commence…
Make up tools are used to aid in the application of
cosmetics to ultimate give a flawless finish. There are many different types of
make up tools available and it can be quite tricky to choose the correct
applicator and use them for accordingly. Numerous brands sell their own brushes
but I do like to look around since prices and quality do vary. Also bear in
mind that paying more for an item does not always equal to quality.
Makeup Brushes
The following brushes are would be great to check especially
if you are on a budget.
There are many different types of brushes and for many
different functions from applying foundations and concealers to applying
eyeliners and eyeshadows.

1. Blush
Brush
I use this as a powder brush. I have found the rounded
shape to be very useful when powder be it pressed or loose powder.
2.
Lash and Brow Groomer
The comb side is great for separating the lashes after
applying mascara. The brush side is ok. It does the job relatively well,
however I have noticed that the bristle does tend to fan out and separate.
3.
Concealer
brush
The shape of the concealer brush is great for applying concealer
on the delicate areas under the eyes.
4.
Eye shadow
Brush
Great for application as well as blending the product. I
prefer using eyeshadow brushes to apply the products rather than the eyeshadow
sponges.
5. Eyeliner
brush
My
favourite! This little beauty is wonderful for applying eyeliner. I have
especially been using it to apply eyeliner to the bottom lash line. Also great
for smudging out the product, be it liner or eye shadow, on the top lid to achieve
a more smokey eye effect.
This
type of brush is also very useful for defining the eye brows.
6.
Contour
brush
The shape of this brush makes it nice and easy to add
shadows/highlights to the face creating lovely contouring and accentuating the
facial bone structure.
7.
Eyeshadow
brush
Lovely for applying eyeshadows and blending the product.
8.
Lip
Defining brush
Helps in smooth application of lip products. Especially
useful when your lip stick has finished- you can use this brush to nicely get
to the remainder of that gorgeous lip stick stuck in the tube!
9.
Smudge
Eye Sponge
This brush can be used to smudge/ blend eyeshadow. It can
also be used to smudge khol eyeliner to create dramatic smokey eye looks.
10.
Eyeshadow
sponge brush
These applicators are usually supplied with eyeshadows.
However I do not always find them useful for applying the product. I feel that
they tend to absorb the product making it difficult to use.
I sure do love powder and blush brushes!
Sponges
Sponges! Lets not undermine the usefulness of these
applicators! Although I do like using brushes to apply make up, I do like going
back to my sponges every now and again.
I use these when applying products to specific areas that
I would like to conceal such as blemishes. They are gentle and easy to use.
At times I also use sponges to aid in the application of
contours or blushes.
Tweezers
Tweezers- great for some facial grooming!
Eyebrow pencil and brush
I really like this Rimmel eyebrow pencil. To read my
review on this product please click here.
So this is the final post for The Starting Off Project

I would like to thank

I really like them! They are very nice and soft- and so far I have not experienced any of the bristles falling out. Worth checking out :)
