Lip product haul and mini review- KIKO Precision Lip Pencils

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all well and enjoying the summer!

Over time, I have grown very fond of lip liners. Today I find that as part of my everyday routine, I gravitate towards wearing lip liners rather than applying lipstick. Generally, I find that lip liners tend to have a longer lasting effect and more opaque look than the lipsticks I have tried.

When I found that KIKO had a sale on some of their lip liners… ofcourse I just needed to give them a try :)

I selected the KIKO, Makeup Milano Precision Lip pencil in shades 303, 305 and 309.

The first shade is 303.
This is a beautiful ‘pinky brown’ shade which can be comparable to No7’s lipstick in the shade Grace (for those of you who have tried this…) I would describe this as a ‘nude’ shade which works well for everyday wear.

The next shade in 305.
This is my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE! I would describe it as a ‘burnt orange brown’ and is the shade I have been wearing pretty much on a daily basis. It blends beautifully and I find it to be very
complementing.

Last but not least, is shade 309.
This shade I would describe as being a ‘deep fuchsia’ colour. I wore this to a wedding and combined it with Rimmel’s lipstick in 307 and they worked very well together.

I don't usually do lip swatches but have tried to take these pictures in natural lighting with no alteration so that you can get a better idea of what the shades look like. Below I have also inlcuded swatched of the lip pencils on the back of me hand.

I have found that these products do last for quite a while. Lip pencils (the kind that would actually need to be sharpened) tend to be more convenient as I do not have to repurchase as often as the retractable/automatic lip liners. So I guess more product for your money which is always a win win situation!

Note
I have worn these lip pencils for a while now and have since been back to repurchase shade 305. To my surprise, I was informed that this shade/ line had been discontinued! I checked in a couple of stores but was unable to find them L I was hoping to buy a few as it is not every day one finds products in shades that totally works and is complementing for all seasons!

Tips
Lip pencils can be drying. Therefore, dabbing a little lip balm after applying your lip pencil can help with preventing your lips from becoming too dry or chapped.
Alternatively, combining your lip pencil with a lipgloss or lipstick can also help as long as the latter isn’t a drying product as well such as the case with certain matte products.

Have you tried these products before? Or do you know of any dupes that may be able to fill the 305 shade void in my heart? If so, please do share J

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Till next time
