Week 1- Starting Off: Skincare

Hi everyone!

I am very happy to be taking part in The Starting Off Project created by Stephanie from Steph’s Inside Voice.

You can click here to read my introduction to the project.

This is week 1 of 10 of the series and it begins with Skincare.
Skincare regimes can include many different types of products including daily moisturises, masks and cleansers. After careful consideration, I have decided that blogging about facial cleansers/daily scrubs would be a great place to start.

Skin is our largest organ and it is exposed to a host of pollutants every day. Our skin is precious and we should undeniably be finding ways to protect our skin, be it that on our eyelids or lips, from being harmed in any way. It is essential to keep your skin clean and maintain a healthy skincare regime to avoid those dreadful blocked pores, spots, black heads etc from making an appearance on your beautiful face.

According to Neutrogena, the Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating daily scrub has been clinically proven to help eliminate existing blackheads and prevent further blackheads for up to 3 weeks.

I have been using this Neutrogena daily scrub for a number of years and have had good experiences with it.

This creamy scrub contains exfoliating micro-beads which aids in unclogging pores by removing dead skin cells, trapped oil and impurities. It comes in a plastic squeeze tube with a flip top cap. It has a relatively small hole where the product emerges from and it is easy to control how much product you wish to use. The formulation is very creamy so there is no fear that it will start running and flowing uncontrollably.

If you look closely, small orange beads can be seen in the creamy scrub

Directions for use:
Apply the scrub to wet face. Gently and in an upward circular motion massage the skin especially in those blackhead prone areas such as on the nose and in its corners. Rinse your face thoroughly.

If you have very sensitive skin, I would recommend this scrub or other daily exfoliants on an every other day basis (or less often) to avoid overwhelming your skin. Remember to be gentle and handle your skin with utmost care. Exfoliating your skin too much can cause irritation. Please do avoid the sensitive area around the eyes.

After using this product, my skin feels cleansed, smooth and fresh. I especially like the fact that is does not leave my skin feeling dry as some skincare products can have this after effect.

The Neutrogena Visibly Clear Black Head Eliminating daily scrub is currently retailing at the discounted rate of £3.13 from Boots. Click here to check it out.

I would love to hear what your favourite skincare products are :)

  9. I use the Neutrogena gel mask for blackheads and I swear it removes mine!
I'm scared of trying new scrubs though because I have sensitive skin. What do you think?

    1. Hi Heidi! I have not yet tried the gel mask... sounds like I should give that one a try now :)
I know exactly what you mean regarding trying new scrubs/products. I too have very sensitive skin and therefore try not to overwhelm my skin with too many products.

I think if you want to try a new scrub, seeing as you have already tried a Neutrogena face mask and have gotten along well with it, it maybe worth trying out their facial scrubs. Perhaps use the scrub less frequently. Instead of using it daily, try it only a couple of times a week to begin with to see how your skin gets along with it.

      I hope this helps :)
